Russia’s Positive Technologies helps Zoom fix vulnerabilities
MOSCOW, Nov 12 (PRIME) -- Russian cybersecurity company Positive Technologies has helped video conferencing service Zoom to eliminate some vulnerabilities in its applications that hackers could exploit, Positive Technologies said on Friday in a statement.
“Company Zoom Video Communications has fixed vulnerabilities in the line of its local solutions for conferences, negotiations, and their record,” Positive Technologies said.
“The errors uncovered by Positive Technologies expert Yegor Dimitrenko enabled introduction of commands to attack and get access to the server with maximum privileges.”
Positive Technologies’ other specialist also uncovered a vulnerability in another Zoom application – hackers could use it to disrupt software operations.
“The main danger of compromising these applications and getting access to the command shell is that they process traffic from all conferences of the company,” Dimitrenko said.
